Participants will learn the basics of blogging and using their website as a business tool.

On July 14, 2011, Firm Media Inc. will present “Wordpress 101,” a free webinar that will teach attendees the fundamentals of blogging with WordPress. The event will feature presentations by two Firm Media designers: Thom Meredith and Roo Raggio.

Meredith and Raggio will begin by introducing WordPress as both a blogging platform and a framework for custom-designed websites for businesses. The speakers will walk attendees through all the necessary steps for setting up a company blog. Strategies for creating marketing opportunities through blogging and social media plugins will also be discussed. Participants will come away from the WordPress webinar with actionable resources for tapping the design, search engine optimization and branding potential of this award-winning content management system.

“Wordpress began as a simple blogging web application but has since matured into a robust content management system used by major corporations around the globe,” explains Meredith, who designed an electronic media kit for Los Angeles Times Media Group. “If you knew how many of your favorite websites are powered by WordPress, you’d be absolutely amazed.”

The live webinar event will be held at 12PM Noon PST. Following the presentation, registered participants will be given the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers. Attendees must register for the freeWordpresswebinar prior to July 14. For more details, visit facebook.com/firmmedia.
